ROCK MINISTRIES

A Bible, boxing gloves and five boys … that’s how Rock Ministries started. With its goal to reach at-risk, inner city youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Rock has now grown to serve over 11,000 kids through sports, homework help, recreation, mentoring and Bible studies.

We are a Franciscan, Eucharistic community called to minister with the poor and homeless of Philadelphia. Formed in the spirit of the Gospel and inspired by the life and compassion of Sts. Francis and Clare of Assisi, we try to meet the immediate daily needs of the people we serve with food, clothing and hospitality. Furthermore, we empower persons to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty and address structural injustices. We seek to build relationships with those we serve by respecting their human dignity and by helping them to restore hope in their lives, and by simply living among them.

A warm welcome to Visitation BVM Parish and our Parish Website!  We are a Roman Catholic Parish of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, founded in 1954.  Our address is 196 North Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403-2600.  We are located in Montgomery County about 5 miles from Valley Forge National Historical Park.  You can access driving directions and our Mass Schedule from links below.
If you are new to the Valley Forge/Norristown Area, please consider making Visitation your parish home.  We offer a wealth of parish organizations and activities for a variety of interests.   
For ministry to our children, we offer a wonderful pre-K through 8th grade parish school with a very fine Home and School Association.  We also have an active Catholic Youth Organization and a High School Youth Ministry.   
If you are interested in learning about the Catholic Faith, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) meets on a weekly basis.  All are welcome; including long time Catholics looking for a refresher course in the faith.
